باب فِي الْعَقِيقَةِ

English narration

Narrated by أم كرز الخزاعية

Narrated Umm Kurz al-Kabiyyah: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Two resembling sheep are to be sacrificed for a boy and one for a girl. Abu Dawud said: I heard Ahmad (ibn Hanbal) say: The Arabic word mukafiAtani means equal (in age) or resembling each other.

النص العربي

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتِ مَيْسَرَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ كُرْزٍ الْكَعْبِيَّةِ ، قَالَتْ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : "

عَنِ الْغُلَامِ شَاتَانِ مُكَافِئَتَانِ وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ

" ، قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد : سَمِعْت أَحْمَدَ ، قَالَ : مُكَافِئَتَانِ أَيْ مُسْتَوِيَتَانِ أَوْ مُقَارِبَتَانِ .
