Narrated by فاطمة بنت قيس الفهرية
Fatimah, daughter of Qais, said: The prophet ﷺ offered the noon prayer and ascended the pulpit. Before this day he did not ascend it except on Friday. He then narrated this story. Abu Dawud said: Ibn Sudran belongs to Basrah. He was drowned in the sea along with Ibn Miswar, and no one could escape except him.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صُدْرَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ مُجَالِدِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَتْنِي فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ قَيْسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ ثُمَّ صَعِدَ الْمِنْبَرَ وَكَانَ لَا يَصْعَدُ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا يَوْمَ جُمُعَةٍ قَبْلَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ هَذِهِ الْقِصَّةَ ، قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد : وَابْنُ صُدْرَانَ بَصْرِيٌّ غَرِقَ فِي الْبَحْرِ مَعَ ابْنِ مِسْوَرٍ لَمْ يَسْلَمْ مِنْهُمْ غَيْرُهُ .
