Chapter 6

Chapter: Concealing those who have committed deeds for which had punishments are prescribed.

باب فِي السَّتْرِ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْحُدُودِ

English narration

Narrated by نعيم بن هزال الأسلمي

Narrated Nuaym: Maiz came to the Prophet ﷺ and admitted (having committed adultery) four times in his presence so he ordered him to be stoned to death, but said to Huzzal: If you had covered him with your garment, it would have been better for you.

النص العربي

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ نُعَيْمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ مَاعِزًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَقَرَّ عِنْدَهُ أَرْبَعَ مَرَّاتٍ فَأَمَرَ بِرَجْمِهِ ، وَقَالَ لِهَزَّالٍ : "

لَوْ سَتَرْتَهُ بِثَوْبِكَ كَانَ خَيْرًا لَكَ

" .
