Chapter: Regarding the prohibition of speaking ill about the dead.

باب فِي النَّهْىِ عَنْ سَبِّ الْمَوْتَى

English narration

Narrated by عائشة بنت أبي بكر الصديق

Aishah reported the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: When your companion dies, leave him and do not revile him.

حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : "

إِذَا مَاتَ صَاحِبُكُمْ فَدَعُوهُ وَلَا تَقَعُوا فِيهِ

" .
