Abu Dawud · 2467إِذَا اعْتَكَفَ يُدْنِي إِلَيَّ رَأْسَهُ فَأُرَجِّلُهُ ، وَكَانَ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْبَيْتَ إِلَّا لِحَاجَةِ الْإِنْسَانِAishah said: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ observed Itikaf, he would put his head near me, and I would comb it. and he entered the house only to fulfill human needs (i. e. to urinate or to relieve himself).6 narratorsAbu Dawud · 2468حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ A similar tradition has been transmitted by Aishah from the Prophet ﷺ through a different chain of narrators. Abu Dawud said: And Yunus also narrated in a similar way from al-Zuhri, and no one supported Malik in his narr6 narratorsAbu Dawud · 2469يَكُونُ مُعْتَكِفًا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَيُنَاوِلُنِي رَأْسَهُ مِنْ خَلَلِ الْحُجْرَةِ فَأَغْسِلُ رَأْسَهُAishah said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to observe Itikaf in the mosque and put his head near me through the opening of the apartment, and I would wash his head. Musaddad said: "And I would comb it while I was menstru6 narratorsAbu Dawud · 2470كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُعْتَكِفًا ، فَأَتَيْتُهُ أَزُورُهُ لَيْلًا فَحَدَّثْتُهُ ثُمَّ قُمْتُ ، فَانْقَلَبْتُ فَقَامَ مَعِي لِيَقْلِبَنِيSafiyyah said: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was observing Itikaf (in the mosque), I would come to him to visit him. I had a talk with him and then stood up. I then returned and he (the Prophet) also stood up to accompan6 narratorsAbu Dawud · 2471حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ فَارِسٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، بِإِسْنَادِهِ بِهَذَا ، قَالَتْ : حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ عِنْدَ بَابِ الْمَسْجِدِ الَّذِي عِنْThe tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Al Zuhri through a different chain of narrators.
