Abu Dawud · 3215أَصَابَنَا قَرْحٌ ، وَجَهْدٌ ، فَكَيْفَ تَأْمُرُنَا ؟ ، قَالَ : احْفِرُوا ، وَأَوْسِعُوا ، وَاجْعَلُوا الرَّجُلَيْنِ وَالثَّلَاثَةَ فِي الْقَبْرِ ، قِيلَ : فَأَيُّهُمْ يُقَدَّمُ ؟ ، قَالَ : أَكْثَرُهُمْ قُرْآنًا ، قَالَ Narrated Hisham ibn Amir: The Ansar came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of Uhud and said: We have been afflicted with wound and fatigue. What do you command us? He said: Dig graves, make them wide, bury two or th4 narratorsAbu Dawud · 3216حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو صَالِحٍ يَعْنِي الْأَنْطَاكِيَّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاق يَعْنِي الْفَزَارِيَّ ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ، بِإِسْنَادِهِ وَمَعْنَاهُ زَادَ فِيهِ ، وَأThe tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Humaid bin Hilal with a different chain of transmitters and to the same effect.
