Abu Dawud · 3317يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ مِنْ تَوْبَتِي أَنْ أَنْخَلِعَ مِنْ مَالِي صَدَقَةً إِلَى اللَّهِ وَإِلَى رَسُولِهِ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ بَعْضَ مَالِكَ ، فَهُوَ خَيْرٌNarrated Kab ibn Malik: I said: Messenger of Allah, to make my repentance complete I should divest myself of my property as sadaqah (alms) for Allah and His Messenger.
