Abu Dawud · 4044أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ لُبْسِ الْقَسِّيِّ ، وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الْمُعَصْفَرِ ، وَعَنْ تَخَتُّمِ الذَّهَبِ ، وَعَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي الرُّكُوعِNarrated Ali bin Abi Talib: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us to wear a Qassi garment, a garment dyed with safflower, gold rings, and reading the Quran while bowing.6 narratorsAbu Dawud · 4045عَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِThe tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Ali bin Abi Talib from the Prophet ﷺ through a different chain of narrators. The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Ibrahim bin Abdullah through a different chain of narrators. Pointing to the collar of his shirt al-Hasan (al-Basri) said: The perfume used 6 narratorsAbu Dawud · 4049نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ عَشْرٍ : عَنِ الْوَشْرِ وَالْوَشْمِ وَالنَّتْفِ ، وَعَنْ مُكَامَعَةِ الرَّجُلِ الرَّجُلَ بِغَيْرِ شِعَارٍ ، وَعَنْ مُكَامَعَةِ الْمَرْأَةِ الْمَرْأَةَ بِغَيْرِNarrated Abul Husayn, that is al-Haytham ibn Shafi I and a companion of mine called Abu Amir, a man from al-Maafir went to perform prayer in Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem). Their preacher was a man of Azd called Abu Rayhanah4 narratorsAbu Dawud · 4050حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " نُهِيَ عَنْ مَيَاثِرِ الْأُرْجُوَانِ " . Ali said: It is forbidden to use purple saddle-clothes.6 narratorsAbu Dawud · 4051نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ خَاتَمِ الذَّهَبِ ، وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الْقَسِّيِّ ، وَالْمِيثَرَةِ الْحَمْرَاءِNarrated Ali ibn Abu Talib: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade me to wear a gold ring, or a Qassi garment or the use purple saddle-cloths.6 narratorsAbu Dawud · 4052اذْهَبُوا بِخَمِيصَتِي هَذِهِ إِلَى أَبِي جَهْمٍ فَإِنَّهَا أَلْهَتْنِي آنِفًا فِي صَلَاتِي وَأْتُونِي بِأَنْبِجَانِيَّتِهِNarrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ once prayed wearing a garment having marks. He looked at its marks. When he saluted, he said: Take this garment of mine to Abu Jahm, for it turned my attention jus5 narratorsAbu Dawud · 4053حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ فِي آخَرِينَ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ نَحْوَهُ وَالْأَوَّلُ أَشْبَعُ . A similar tradition has also been transmitted by Aishah through a different chain of narrators. But the former is more perfect.5 narrators
