Abu Dawud · 4491لَا يُجْلَدُ فَوْقَ عَشْرِ جَلَدَاتٍ إِلَّا فِي حَدٍّ مِنْ حُدُودِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّAbu Burdah reported the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: No more than ten lashes are to be given, except in the case of one of the punishment prescribed by Allah, the Exalted.7 narratorsAbu Dawud · 4492حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو ، أَنَّ بُكَيْرَ بْنَ الْأَشَجّ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ جَابِرٍ The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Abu Burdah al-Ansari through a different chain of narrators. This version has: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say. . . He then mentioned the tradition to the s8 narrators
