Abu Dawud · 5193وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ ، لَا تَدْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ حَتَّى تُؤْمِنُوا ، وَلَا تُؤْمِنُوا حَتَّى تَحَابُّوا ، أَفَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى أَمْرٍ إِذَا فَعَلْتُمُوهُ تَحَابَبْتُمْ ، أَفْشُوا السَّلَامَ بَيْنَكُمْAbu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: By him in whose hand my soul is, you will not enter Paradise until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another: should I not guide you to som5 narratorsAbu Dawud · 5194أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَيُّ الْإِسْلَامِ خَيْرٌ ؟ قَالَ : تُطْعِمُ الطَّعَامَ ، وَتَقْرَأُ السَّلَامَ عَلَى مَنْ عَرَفْتَ وَمَنْ لَمْ تَعْرِفْAbdullah bin Amr said: A man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: When aspect of Islam is best? He responded to his salutation. He then sat down. The Prophet ﷺ said: Ten. Another man came and said: Peace and Allah's mercy be upon yo5 narratorsAbu Dawud · 5196حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ سُوَيْدٍ الرَّمْلِيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ , قَالَ : أَظُنُّ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ نَافِعَ بْنَ يَزِيدَ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو مَرْحُومٍ , عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذِ بْنِ أَنَسNarrated Muadh ibn Anas: (This version is same as previous No 5176 from the Prophet ﷺ, adding that): Afterwards another man came and said: Peace and Allah's mercy, blessings and forgiveness be upon you! whereupon he said6 narratorsAbu Dawud · 5197إِنَّ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِاللَّهِ مَنْ بَدَأَهُمْ بِالسَّلَامِNarrated Abu Umamah: The Prophet ﷺ said: Those who are nearest to Allah are they who are first to give a salutation.5 narratorsAbu Dawud · 5198يُسَلِّمُ الصَّغِيرُ عَلَى الْكَبِيرِ وَالْمَارُّ عَلَى الْقَاعِدِ وَالْقَلِيلُ عَلَى الْكَثِيرِAbu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: The young should salute the old, the one who is passing by should salute the one who is sitting, and a small company should salute a large one.5 narratorsAbu Dawud · 5199حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عَرَبِيٍّ , أَخْبَرَنَا رَوْحٌ , حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ , قَالَ :أَخْبَرَنِي زِيَادٌ , أَنَّ ثَابِتًا مَوْلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ أَخْبَرَهُ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: one who is riding should salute one who is walking. Messenger of Allah, peace be upon you! He saluted us and took me by my hand. He then sent me with some message.
