Book 18: The Book of Abridged Or Shortened Prayers (At-Taqsir)

كِتَاب تَقْصِيرِ الصَّلَاةِ

Chapter 7

(7) Chapter. To offer the optional non-obligatory Salat (Nawafil) on the back of animals (Rahila) in whatever direction the animal goes.

7- بَابُ صَلاَةِ التَّطَوُّعِ عَلَى الدَّوَابِّ وَحَيْثُمَا تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ:

English narration

Narrated by عبد الله بن عمر العدوي

Ibn 'Umar (while on a journey) used to offer the prayer and the witr on his mount (Rahila). He said that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to do so.

النص العربي

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، قَالَ : "

وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ وَيُوتِرُ عَلَيْهَا ، وَيُخْبِرُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَفْعَلُهُ

" .
