Book 18: The Book of Abridged Or Shortened Prayers (At-Taqsir)

كِتَاب تَقْصِيرِ الصَّلَاةِ

Chapter 12

(12) Chapter. Whoever offered Nawafil (optional - non-obligatory) prayers, not after the compulsory Salat (prayer) but before it.

12- بَابُ مَنْ تَطَوَّعَ فِي السَّفَرِ فِي غَيْرِ دُبُرِ الصَّلَوَاتِ وَقَبْلَهَا:

English narration

Narrated by عبد الله بن عمر العدوي

Ibn `Umar said, "Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to pray the Nawafil on the back of his Mount (carriage) by signs facing any direction." Ibn `Umar used to do the same.

النص العربي

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، "

أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُسَبِّحُ عَلَى ظَهْرِ رَاحِلَتِهِ حَيْثُ كَانَ وَجْهُهُ يُومِئُ بِرَأْسِهِ

" ، وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَفْعَلُهُ .
