كِتَاب تَفْسِيرِ الْقُرْآنِ

Chapter 8b

(8b) Chapter. “And why did you not, when you heard it, say: It is not right for us to speak of this...” (V.24:16)

8 م- بَابُ: {وَلَوْلاَ إِذْ سَمِعْتُمُوهُ قُلْتُمْ مَا يَكُونُ لَنَا أَنْ نَتَكَلَّمَ بِهَذَا سُبْحَانَكَ هَذَا بُهْتَانٌ عَظِيمٌ}:

English narration

Narrated by عبد الله بن العباس القرشي

Ibn `Abbas asked `Aisha's permission to enter. Al-Qasim then narrated the whole Hadith (as in 277) but did not mention "Would that I had been forgotten and out of sight."

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ ، عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ اسْتَأْذَنَ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ نَحْوَهُ ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ نِسْيًا مَنْسِيًّا .
