(11) Chapter. To inflict the legal punishment on the noble and the weak people (impartially).

Bukhari · 6787إِنَّمَا هَلَكَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ ، أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُقِيمُونَ الْحَدَّ عَلَى الْوَضِيعِ ، وَيَتْرُكُونَ الشَّرِيفَ ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ ، لَوْ أَنَّ فَاطِمَةَ فَعَلَتْ ذَلِكَ ، لَقَطَعْتُ يَدَهَاUsama approached the Prophet (ﷺ) on behalf of a woman (who had committed theft). The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The people before you were destroyed because they used to inflict the legal punishments on the poor and forgive the 5 narrators
