Abu Dawud · 3090إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا سَبَقَتْ لَهُ مِنَ اللَّهِ مَنْزِلَةٌ ، لَمْ يَبْلُغْهَا بِعَمَلِهِ ، ابْتَلَاهُ اللَّهُ فِي جَسَدِهِ ، أَوْ فِي مَالِهِ ، أَوْ فِي وَلَدِهِNarrated Muhammad ibn Khalid as-Sulami: on his father's authority said his grandfather reported: He was a Companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: When Allah has previously decree6 narratorsAbu Dawud · 4435أَنَّهُ كَانَ قَاعِدًا يَعْتَمِلُ فِي السُّوقِ فَمَرَّتِ امْرَأَةٌ تَحْمِلُ صَبِيًّا فَثَارَ النَّاسُ مَعَهَا وَثُرْتُ فِيمَنْ ثَارَ ، فَانْتَهَيْتُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : مNarrated Al-Lajlaj al-Amiri: I was working in the market. A woman passed carrying a child. The people rushed towards her, and I also rushed along with them.
