The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Abu Qilabah from Abu Zaid through a different chain of narrators to the same effect: A man of the Ansar. . . The Prophet ﷺ said: Had I been present before his burial, he would not have been buried in a Muslim cemetry.

حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ هُوَ الطَّحَّانُ ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي زَيْدٍ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ بِمَعْنَاهُ ، وَقَالَ يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لَوْ شَهِدْتُهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُدْفَنَ لَمْ يُدْفَنْ فِي مَقَابِرِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ .
