Abu Dawud · 3958أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَعْتَقَ سِتَّةَ أَعْبُدٍ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُمْ ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ : قَوْلًا شَدِيدًا ثُمَّ دَعَاهُمْ ، فَجَزَّأَهُمْImran bin Hussain said: A man who had no other property emancipated six slaves of his at the time of the death. When the Prophet ﷺ was informed about it, he spoke severely of him. The Prophet ﷺ said: Had I been present before his bu5 narratorsAbu Dawud · 3961أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَعْتَقَ سِتَّةَ أَعْبُدٍ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُمْ ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَقْرَعَ بَيْنَهُمْ ، فَأَعْتَقَ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَرَقَّ أَرْبَImran bin Husain said: A man emancipated six slaved at the time of his death and he had no other property. The Prophet ﷺ was informed about it. He cast lots among them, emancipated two and retained four in slavery.6 narrators
