Abu Dawud · 3081حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بَكَّارِ بْنِ بِلَالٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ سُمَيْعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ مُعَاذٍ ، أَنَّNarrated Muadh ibn Jabal: He who put the necklace of jizyah in his neck abandoned the way followed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.5 narratorsAbu Dawud · 3082مَنْ أَخَذَ أَرْضًا بِجِزْيَتِهَا فَقَدِ اسْتَقَالَ هِجْرَتَهُ وَمَنْ نَزَعَ صَغَارَ كَافِرٍ مِنْ عُنُقِهِ فَجَعَلَهُ فِي عُنُقِهِ فَقَدْ وَلَّى الإِسْلَامَ ظَهْرَهُNarrated Abud Darda: The Prophet ﷺ said: If anyone takes land by (paying) its jizyah, he renounces his immigration; and if anyone takes off the disgrace of an unbeliever from his neck he turns away his back from Islam.
