Book 34: The Book of Sales (Bargains)

كِتَاب الْبُيُوعِ

Chapter 18

(18) Chapter. Whoever waited for a person in hard circumstances to pay debt (i.e., when he is able to repay).

18- بَابُ مَنْ أَنْظَرَ مُعْسِرًا:

English narration

Narrated by أبو هريرة الدوسي

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "There was a merchant who used to lend the people, and whenever his debtor was in straitened circumstances, he would say to his employees, 'Forgive him so that Allah may forgive us.' So, Allah forgave him."

النص العربي

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الزُّبَيْدِيُّ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : "

كَانَ تَاجِرٌ يُدَايِنُ النَّاسَ ، فَإِذَا رَأَى مُعْسِرًا ، قَالَ لِفِتْيَانِهِ : تَجَاوَزُوا عَنْهُ ، لَعَلَّ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَتَجَاوَزَ عَنَّا فَتَجَاوَزَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ

" .
