Chapter 81

(81) Chapter. Selling of gold for silver from hand to hand (i.e., cash down).

81- بَابُ بَيْعِ الذَّهَبِ بِالْوَرِقِ يَدًا بِيَدٍ:

English narration

Narrated by نفيع بن مسروح الثقفي

that his father said, "The Prophet (ﷺ) forbade the selling of gold for gold and silver for silver except if they are equivalent in weight, and allowed us to sell gold for silver and vice versa as we wished."

النص العربي

حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : "

نَهَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الْفِضَّةِ بِالْفِضَّةِ ، وَالذَّهَبِ بِالذَّهَبِ ، إِلَّا سَوَاءً بِسَوَاءٍ ، وَأَمَرَنَا أَنْ نَبْتَاعَ الذَّهَبَ بِالْفِضَّةِ كَيْفَ شِئْنَا ، وَالْفِضَّةَ بِالذَّهَبِ كَيْفَ شِئْنَا

" .
