Book 64: The Book of Al- Maghazi

كِتَاب الْمَغَازِي

Chapter 18

(18) Chapter: “When two parties from among you were about the lose heart, but Allah was their Wali (Protector and Supporter).” (V.3:122)

18- بَابُ: {إِذْ هَمَّتْ طَائِفَتَانِ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ تَفْشَلاَ وَاللَّهُ وَلِيُّهُمَا وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ}:

English narration

Narrated by علي بن أبي طالب الهاشمي

I have never heard the Prophet (ﷺ) mentioning both his father and mother for anybody other than Sa'd.

النص العربي

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ , حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ , عَنْ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ ابْنِ شَدَّادٍ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ , يَقُولُ : " مَا سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَجْمَعُ أَبَوَيْهِ لِأَحَدٍ غَيْرَ سَعْدٍ .
