Book 85: The Book of Al-Farad (The Laws of Inheritance)

كِتَاب الْفَرَائِضِ

Chapter 3

(3) Chapter. The statement of the Prophet: “Our (i.e., Messengers’) property is not to be inherited, and whatever we leave (after our death), is Sadaqa (to be spent in charity)."

3- بَابُ قَوْلِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لاَ نُورَثُ مَا تَرَكْنَا صَدَقَةٌ»:

English narration

Narrated by أبو هريرة الدوسي

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Not even a single Dinar of my property should be distributed (after my deaths to my inheritors, but whatever I leave excluding the provision for my wives and my servants, should be spent in charity."

النص العربي

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : "

لَا يَقْتَسِمُ وَرَثَتِي دِينَارًا ، مَا تَرَكْتُ بَعْدَ نَفَقَةِ نِسَائِي ، وَمَئُونَةِ عَامِلِي ، فَهُوَ صَدَقَةٌ

" .
