17- بَابُ مَا يُكْرَهُ مِنَ الإِطْنَابِ فِي الْمَدْحِ وَلْيَقُلْ مَا يَعْلَمُ:

(17) Chapter. What is hated of exaggeration in praising, and one should say only what he knows.

Bukhari · 2663سَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلًا يُثْنِي عَلَى رَجُلٍ وَيُطْرِيهِ فِي مَدْحِهِ ، فَقَالَ : أَهْلَكْتُمْ أَوْ قَطَعْتُمْ ظَهَرَ الرَّجُلِThe Prophet (ﷺ) heard someone praising another and exaggerating in his praise.
