Chapter: How is permission to be sought.

باب كَيْفَ الاِسْتِئْذَانُ

English narration

Narrated by اسم مبهم

Ribi said that a man of Banu Amir told him that he asked permission of the prophet ﷺ to enter the house. He related the tradition to the same effect, saying: I heard it and so I said: Peace be upon you. May I enter?

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ رِبْعِيٍّ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مَنْ بَنِي عَامِرٍ ، أَنَّهُ اسْتَأْذَنَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَعْنَاهُ ، قَالَ : فَسَمِعْتُهُ ، فَقُلْتُ : السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ ، أَأَدْخُلُ ؟ .
