Abu Dawud · 1304حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ ابْنِ شَبُّوَيْهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ النَّحْوِيِّ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ،قَالَ فِي الْمُزَّمِّNarrated Abdullah Ibn Abbas: In Surat al-Muzzammil (73), the verse: "Keep vigil at night but a little, a half thereof" (2-3) has been abrogated by the following verse: "He knoweth that ye count it not, and turneth unto y6 narratorsAbu Dawud · 1305حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ يَعْنِي الْمَرْوَزِيَّ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ الْحَنَفِيِّ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ أَوَّلُ الْمُزَّمِّلِ كَانُوا يَقُومُونNarrated Ibn Abbas: When the opening verses of Surah Al-muzammil was revealed, the Companions would pray as long as they would pray during Ramadan until its last verses were revealed. Whenever he fell ill or lethargic, he would offer it sitting.6 narratorsAbu Dawud · 1308رَحِمَ اللَّهُ رَجُلًا قَامَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَصَلَّى وَأَيْقَظَ امْرَأَتَهُ ، فَإِنْ أَبَتْ نَضَحَ فِي وَجْهِهَا الْمَاءَ ، رَحِمَ اللَّهُ امْرَأَةً قَامَتْ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَصَلَّتْ وَأَيْقَظَتْ زَوْجَهَا ، فَإِنْ أَبَى Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet ﷺ said: May Allah have mercy on a man who gets up at night and prays, and awakens his wife; if she refuses, he should sprinkle water on her face.
