Du'a
Du'a After Eating: Al-Hamdu Lillahi Alladhi At'amani Hadha
13 hadith in the six books
All praise is due to Allah who fed me this and granted it as provision to me, without any effort from me nor power.
Several forms of praise after a meal are recorded in the six books. Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah narrate from Mu'adh ibn Anas that whoever says “All praise is for Allah who fed me this and provided it for me without any might or power from me” after eating is forgiven his past sins.
Bukhari records the praise the Prophet said when his dining cloth was lifted, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah record “who fed us, gave us drink and made us Muslims”, and Muslim records that Allah is pleased with a servant who praises Him for food and drink.
“Who fed me this and provided it for me”
“Who fed us, gave us drink and made us Muslims”
“Abundant, good and blessed praise”
Said when the dining cloth was lifted after the meal.
“Who gave food and drink and made it easy to swallow”
Allah is pleased with praise after food
